Frosted Designs 5/2

Life has finally started to cool down a bit. I've got finals in a few weeks, I'm in the middle of performances for my show, and auditions are coming up shortly. I'm still trying to finalize summer plans, but I'm enjoying the little free time that I have... When I pulled out my scrapbooking supplies to work on the latest Frosted Designs sketch, I had a little bit of a struggle in getting back into the groove. You know those days where your creativity is not as cohesive and focused as you'd like it to be? Well, I was having one of those days. I know many scrappers live by the mantra - "There is no such thing as a mistake in art" - and will therefore keep their creations regardless of their satisfaction with them. That being said, there are a few things I would change about my layout if I were to do it over, but I am happy with the end result....

Here is the wonderful sketch:

And here is my take on it:
The pup-pup in the picture is my little Ian. I miss him when I'm away at school, and I love to make layouts that remind me of the people/animals that I miss.... He's always bouncing around, and it's so hard to get decent pictures of him, so I'm especially happy with this set. It was just one of those days where he was basking in the sun, and let me take a few pictures of him sitting still. :-)

Go join in on the challenge at Frosted Designs, and win yourself a SWEET Echo Park prize from Part Time Sally. Seriously, that is such a cool prize, I'm a little jealous. :-P Go! Create!

Frosted Designs Sketch Challenge 4/5/11

Greetings! I'm back again with a sketch from Frosted Designs.
I took the sketch and put my own little twist on it. I used a lot of older October Afternoon goodies on this layout (Have you seen the preview of their 5 & Dime line?! Gorgeous!!). The pics are of a friend of mine who is always baking up a storm. She makes the best breads, cookies, cakes, etc! When I saw these papers I knew that I wanted pictures that coordinated with the "Modern Homemaker" theme.

And now it's YOUR turn to use this fabulous sketch as inspiration for your own layout! Link it up to this post, & you could win a fabulous prize from Sweet Peach Crop Shop! TOO COOL! Have a great day!

Frosted Designs Sketch Challenge 3/22/11

Whew! I'm back from a successful trip to New York, and I'm getting back into the swing of things...

Here's a layout created with the latest sketch from Frosted Designs.

Sketch:

Layout:
As you can see, I used some of my New York pics for this layout. For some reason, I didn't actually take that many photos while I was there (I know, silly me!)... but I felt that a collection of city pictures would work well for this sketch. I don't normally use a lot of pictures on a single layout, but I think this worked out well. :) By the way, the pictures of the buildings and the trees were taken in Central Park, while the other picture was taken in front of the theater that had "Chicago" playing. Yes, I did get to see it, and YES, it was amazing! Plus, I also got to see another show that I was very excited about, but more about that later... I can't wait to go back to New York for more Broadway...
